Find Images You Can Use for Free in your Web Projects

Esther, red hallway, Seattle LibraryGoogle Images added a new filter that lets you browse images by license type. So, if you want to find an image for a blog or website, but you don't want to buy it or accidentally use it without permission, this is a good place to start.

To try it out, go to the Advanced Search page and select the Usage Rights to filter by. I found this nifty image of the Seattle Library. You do have to verify that the creator of the image tagged the image with the correct license, but that's it. This is a great addition by Google.

I'm also a big fan of the Stock.Xchange, a site that I use regularly for my projects. There are nearly 400,000 images you can browse through, and the licensing is clear and easy to understand. Check it out.

Do you have any other sites you would recommend for free images?
